چکیده

In this paper, we present a method that allows novice users to interactively create partially self-similar manifold surfaces without relying on shape grammars or fractal methods. Moreover, the surfaces created using our method are connected. The modelers that are based on traditional fractal methods or shape grammars usually create disconnected surfaces and restrict the creative freedom of users. In most cases, the shapes are defined by hard-coded schemes that provide only a few parameters that can be adjusted by the users. We present a new approach for modeling such shapes. With this approach, novice users can interactively create a variety of unusual and interesting partially selfsimilar manifold surfaces.

Interactive Modeling of Support-free Shapes for Fabrication

We introduce an interactive sculpting approach that enables modeling of support-free objects: objects which do not require any support structures during 3D printing. We propose three operators – trim, preserve, grow – to maintain the support-free property during interactive modeling. These operators let us define brushes that perform either in an unconstrained manner (adapting the shape to the ...

Modeling, Tracking and Interactive Animation of Faces and Heads Using Input from Video

We describe tools that use measurements from video for the extraction of facial modeling and animation parameters, head tracking, and real-time interactive facial animation. These tools share common goals but rely on varying details of physical and geometric modeling and in their input measurement system. Accurate facial modeling involves fine details of geometry and muscle coarticulation. By c...

Study on compressive and compatibility properties of titanium functionally graded scaffolds (FGSs) as bone replacements

Recently, Functionally Graded Scaffolds (FGSs) have attracted a lot of attention as bone replacements due to their gradient porosities as well as a bone structure. In present study titanium functionally graded scaffolds (FGSs) were fabricated by powder metallurgy route using Mg and carbamide as space holders. The arranged layers with 20, 40 and 60 Vol.% porosities were compacted in steel die us...

Modeling and Animating Three Dimensional Detailed Facial Expressions

Two categories of methods for generating detailed animated facial expressions are presented. The first category is to apply pattern functions to the surface of a facial model. The pattern functions allow a user to directly manipulate them and see immediate results, and allow expressive features to be applied to any existing animation or model. The location and style of an expressive feature can...

A Simple Method for Modeling Wrinkles on Human Skin

Realism of rendered human skin can be strongly enhanced by taking into account skin wrinkles. However, modeling wrinkles is a difficult task, and considerable time and effort are necessary to achieve satisfactory results. This paper presents a simple method to easily model wrinkles on human skin, nevertheless taking into account the properties of real wrinkles. Wrinkles are specified using intu...
